The market is located at 2nd Avenue and 56th Street, just one block west of the Kenosha Public Museum.  The museum is open Saturdays from 10am – 5pm, free to visitors.  I definitely recommend checking it out while you’re in town!

Kenosha HarborMarket Vendors

Founded in 2003, the Kenosha HarborMarket hosts over 100 vendors and up to 130 individual booths offering a variety of goods.  Cut flowers, potted plants, and hanging baskets can be found if you’re looking for a gift or something to brighten up your home.  Local artists also sell handcrafted arts and crafts, handmade jewelry, clothing and hats.  Produce vendors offer the freshest seasonal produce, and other vendors offer honey, artisan cheese, eggs, meat, fresh baked bread, dips and sauces, fresh garlic and olive oil, baked goods, (my favorite is the fresh apple tart cherry almond pie from Van Laar’s Fruit Farm!) coffee, waffles and crepes, etc. – the list goes on.  You can even find dog treats for your furry friends.

Pollinator Garden

While you’re visiting the market, check out the pollinator garden on the south end of 2nd Avenue across from Kenosha Tap House. Here you’ll find a beautiful mix of native and non-native flowers.  In late spring, you’ll find tulips, Iris, and daffodils; in summer, you’ll find a variety of native wildflowers such as spiderwort, milkweed, bottle gentian, bee balm, purple coneflower, and native sunflowers. I often observe monarch butterflies on native milkweed, and bumblebees nectaring on native flowers.

HarborMarket Pet Policy

Although pets are not permitted within the market on 2nd Avenue, service animals are permitted within the market.  Throughout the harbor, there is plenty of open green space for dogs to walk, play, and meet and greet one another. You can read the HarborMarket Pet Policy here.

Live Music

Live Music is offered in two separate locations within the market along 2nd Street; local musicians play for tips (which are much appreciated and well-deserved!)  Local musicians add to the festive ambiance of the market!  Check out the Live Music and Event Schedule for 2025 at the market plaza.

Food Trucks

Food Trucks rotate throughout the spring and summer season, but a few of the regulars are at the market each week throughout the season, offering a variety of cuisine. Visitors can enjoy a variety of ethnic food offerings from vendors and food trucks alike, including Thai, Hungarian, Columbian, soul food, Canadian (Cheffrey’s Poutine), fresh waffles and crepes, hot and cold coffee drinks, lemonade, kombucha, and a large variety of baked treats.  There’s something for everyone, and you’ll never go home hungry!

Sculpture Walk

If you have time, consider a long stroll around the harbor to enjoy the lake breezes and check out the Sculpture Walk.  Large sculptures created by local artists have been installed along the harbor walk; every two years new sculptures are featured.

As a side note, if you’re interested in exploring Kenosha’s beaches, check out my post on Top Lake Michigan Beaches for Beach Glass in Southern Wisconsin. If you enjoy beachcombing, looking for beach glass, pottery, and fossils along Lake Michigan’s shore, one of my favorite beaches is just a hop skip and a jump – literally – from the Kenosha HarborMarket.  Be sure to check it out!
